“I have equipped the girls with the necessary skills to compete at the qualifier.”

KAMPALA - Jonathan Ssebanja is fired up ahead of his first major task as Uganda's women national team head coach as he leads his side to the ICC Africa Women T20 World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

"I feel honored and ready to face the task bestowed upon me," he said during the official flag-off of the team at Lugogo on Thursday.

"I have equipped the girls with the necessary skills to compete at the qualifier."

The four-team tournament will be played in a double round robin arrangement, with the overall winner by points to progress to the global qualifier in 2018. Uganda has never qualified for this stage.
