Police in Kabale have towed opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye's car out of town through suburb roads.
He was with Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Kawempe Division Mayor Mubarak Munyagwa moments after their case was adjourned to June 6, 2016.
Their vehicle was towed towards Rukungiri. Lukwago posted on social media a picture of a police vehicle towing their vehicle.
Besigye later posted on twitter: "Passed Ramucucu heading towards Muhanga town in Rukiga County."
Besigye, Lukwago, Ingrid Turinawe, Munyagwa and Rukungiri Municipality MP Roland Mugume Kaginda appeared before the magistrate's court in Kabale to answer charges of inciting violence that resulted into injury of four police officers in 2012.
Hearing of the case could not take place due to the absence of the Chief Magistrate, Agatonica Mbabazi who is hearing this case.
Earlier a massive crowd escorted Dr. Besigye right from the FDC party offices in Kabale town to the court but was blocked from accessing court premises by police.
Before appearing in court, Besigye and other FDC party leaders participated in a weekly FDC party prayer held at the party offices at Humura House.
