Uganda Christian University beat Kampala International University 2-0 at home at UCU grounds in the University Football League on Sunday.

Victory for the UCU meant that they are second on the table behind Makerere University Business School who are top on goal advantage.

The first 15 minutes saw KIU launch dangerous attacks but could not find the net.

 Dan Semakula missed a header after receiving a cross from the right to keep the scoreline intact.

But the minutes wore on, the hosts settled into the game and showed some level of comfortable on the ball. The opening half action however did not separate the two sides.

After the interval, the home side pile pressure on KIU, forcing them into errors. At the hour mark, they eventually succumbed when Mugisha struck to give UCU the lead.

Robert Mugisha deflection shot at an hours mark took the home team in the lead to make it 1-0.

Ten minutes later, Komacheki added scored the winner to all but end the contest.

Reactions

UCU head coach Jackson Nyima: "I love the way the boys picked up after losing our first game to Gulu University."

KIU assistant coach Kenneth Semambo said they had a bad day in office.
