The Kololo based club finished 18th out of 24 teams at the championship in Cairo, Egypt last week

National League men's champions Nemostars volleyball team hope to vent their anger at the African Clubs Championship when they turn to defend their KIU Open title in Kansanga this weekend.

The Kololo based club finished 18th out of 24 teams at the championship in Cairo, Egypt last week and their first competition since then will be at the KIU Open where they hope to face their local rivals Sport-S men, Sky VC and KAVC among others.

Nemostars VC defeated Sport-S 3-2 last year. Sky VC, who is boosted by the services of Cathbert Malinga and the return of Nicholas Dheyongera from his semi - professional stint in Rwanda are arguably their biggest challenger.

The two sides met at the Ndejje Open final but never got to know the better team between them as darkness set in.

In the women's category, Ndejje Elites VC hope to use the championship to fine-tune themselves for the Women Africa Club Championship in Tunisia starting next week.

Sport-S women which won the title last year is their biggest challengers together with Vision Volleyball Camp and Nkumba University.
Ndejje Elites and Vision Volleyball Camp have both bagged a title each so far and that should come as a motivation to inspire Sport-S women to win the KIU Open.
