Ugandan professional kick-boxer Umar ‘The Pain' Semata underlined his determination to reclaim the WKF intercontinental welterweight title as he registered a stoppage against Weng Penfei in a super welterweight fight in Chengdu, China on Saturday.

Semata who is also the current WBC Muay Thai super middleweight champion wasted little effort when he stopped his opponent by technical knockout in third round.

The Ugandan martial artist used the Chengdu fight as a build up ahead of a major challenge later in the year.

The Thailand-based Ugandan is to challenge Australia's Piopr Logodzki for World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) intercontinental welterweight in July.

Semata lost the title to Logodzki in Kampala last October. However, the Ugandan martial artist strongly believes that he can return the title to Kampala.

"This is will be a full contact fight which is easy for me. My determination is to that I return the title return," Semata had promised before departure last week.

Semata who is managed by Lash Media is sponsored by Pemba Sports Africa for a series of international engagements in Asia in preparation for the title defence.

Lash Media official Alice Matovu was optimistic of more positive results for Semata. "Semata is in the right shape. I am sure he will make it," she said
