Apr 03, 2016

By half-time, JMC Hippos were leading 4-0 after a dominant display.

Captain Hassan Ssebowa inspired JMC Hippos FC to a comprehensive 4-1 victory over URA FC in the National U17 Junior League at Kakindu Stadium.

The skipper put the hosts in front with a superb free-kick 17 minutes into the game.

He then turned provider for the other three goals by Thomas Ochungu, Amos Kairu and Sharif Kakutukemu as the Jinja-based side made quick work of the encounter.

By half-time, they were leading 4-0 after a dominant display.

The visitors pulled one back through Alex Ssemanda 10 minutes to the end but the game was all but over as a contest.

"I am happy that the boys responded well to my game plan. They realized their mistakes they made in the 3-1 home loss against leaders Bright Stars Junior team in the previous game and worked on them," said JMC Hippos team coach Joseph Kigobe.

"Now is the time for them to start winning games with more goals."

The win gave Kigobe's side four points - three for the win and an extra for scoring more than a two-goal margin against their opponents.

JMC Hippos now have 11 points with a game in hand against Express FC.

Bright Stars lead the standings on 31 points, four adrift of BUL FC, who are in second.
