A letter was written to court stating that the Directorate does not appear in court martial matters
Justice Wilson Musene-Masalu has told court that the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mike Chibita wrote a letter to court stating that the Directorate does not appear in matters that are before the court martial.
The DPP declined to engage in the hearing of the bail application by the ex-coordinator of Intelligence Services Gen. David Sejusa alias Tinyefuza.
The head of criminal division of the High Court made the revelation today at the High Court in Kampala.
"It is true that the DPP was served with Sejusa's bail applications but they wrote a letter to court stating that they do not appear before matters that are in the court martial," Musene revealed.
This prompted the Judge to allow defence lawyers led by Ladislaus Rwakafuuzi to submit on the bail application.
Other lawyers include Sejusa’s son Kenneth Munungu, David Mushabe and Yunus Kasirivu.
