Residents of Paidha sub-county in Zombo district have accused health workers of Otheku health center II of incompetence.

The residents claim the health workers have poor attitude towards patients and show up to work late.

One of the patients, Okura Anthony, said most of the time patients come to the health facility as early as 6:00am to get treatment but in vain.

Okura claimed that patients are left helplessly lying on the veranda and compound trees without being attended to by the health workers who report on duty late.

He asked the district leaders to intervene.

However, Fides Thiwe, one of the accused who is a midwife, denied the allegations saying they are always on time and no patient has ever been sent away.

Meanwhile, the in charge of the health center, Nasser Karim, says most patients want quick services and yet as health workers, there are certain arrangements they need to do before seeing patients.

He said they will investigate the allegation and punitive measures will be taken against any health workers found guilty of misconduct.
