Uganda Junior Golfers made a nervy start at the 18th edition of the All-Africa Junior Golf Championship in Tunisia, completing day-one in 6th place on Wednesday.
The windy conditions at the El Kantoui Golf Course in Sousse did not help matters as Edwin Okong and Denis Asaba making their debut on the team returned 86 and 87 gross in the four-day championship.
Deco Mutebi (90 gross) was the other scorer for team Uganda who are chasing for their first junior title in the over a decade championship. Joel Basalaine's 96 did not count at the event that has attracted eight countries including defending and record winners South Africa.

The best three scores per round will count for each team and the overall scores. The All-Africa Junior Golf Championship offers an opportunity for the best players in Africa a highly competitive platform to showcase their talent and gain experience.
It is the biggest stage for junior golf in Africa where the he winners and silver medalists of the championship qualify for the Junior Golf World Cup in Japan later this year.
