FDC nominates Ouma for Eastern Youth MP race

The election which has been delayed due court battles is likely to be held any day this week in Jinja town

Ouma Idi has been elected by the Forum for Democratic Change Youth League to contest for the Eastern Region youth Member of Parliament.

Ouma who is also the FDC national youth chairperson polled 18 votes to beat his rival Fred Mutibwa Wamanghe the Kamuli district FDC youth chairperson who got 16 votes in the elections conducted at the party office in senior quarter Mbale town.

Ouma now joins Dorothy Okware NRM, Isma Mafabi and Masitura Namatove (ind) in the fight of for the eastern region youth member of parliament race. 

The election which has been delayed due court battles is likely to be held any day this week in Jinja town.

Ouma and Okware hail from Busia district, while Mafabi and Namatove hail from Sironko and Kamuli respectively.

The race has been dubbed as a battle for the three eastern region giants, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Mafabi Lumolo the Bugisu sub region NRM chairperson and John Lucky Okware the Bukedi district NRM mobiliser.  The three are throwing their weight behind respective candidates.

Nandala supports Ouma while Lumolo and Okware support their children respectively.
