The Uganda schools giants have successfully appealed against the ban.

The National Copa Coca Cola and the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games record champions, St. Mary's Kitende, will be playing at this year's edition in Eldoret, Kenya.

The Uganda schools soccer giants get back into the competitions after having successfully appealed for a lift of their ban by the regional schools games body.

Kitende were slapped with a one year ban and a 1000 dollar fine and three of their players were banned for life, after the team went on rampage and beat Burundian referee Ahmed Athman, accusing him of biased officiating in their 1-0 semifinal loss to Tanzania's Aliance SS during last year's games in Huye, Rwanda.

But FEASSSA president Justus Mugisha said the body's disciplinary committee rescinded the decision, following Kitende's appeal for an alternative action than a ban.

"They appealed for an alternative punishment, saying that sitting a year out, would hamper chances to development the talents of many young players the school has," Mugisha said.

Mugisha added that Kitende's past disciplinary record convinced the committee to take to their request.
