Arua one FM scribe scoops ACME grant

The ACME fellowship is a six-month in-service journalism training and mentoring opportunity that also gives fellows access of up to Shs2.5 million in financial support towards three reporting projects.


Edna Piyic, a Vision Group journalist based in Arua has received a grant from the African Center for Media Excellence (ACME) under the 2016 local government reporting fellowship.

The ACME fellowship is a six-month in-service journalism training and mentoring opportunity that also gives fellows access of up to Shs2.5 million in financial support towards three reporting projects.

An excited Piyic told Arua one FM that she intends to speak about the plight of the ordinary woman who is being tossed by authorities for selling on the streets and yet the current market has inadequate space to accommodate vendors.

Under the fellowship, additional short courses and mentorship are also provided for the participating journalists.
