The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has again won the majority seats in the Kasese district council elections leaving the National Resistance Movement (NRM) with only 18 seats out of the 47 seats.

According to the results declared Thursday morning by the district returning officer Lawrence Mbonigaba, FDC won 29 seats in the district council and its party flag bearer Sibendire Bigogo Geoffrey was declared the new chairman elect for the district after winning Dura Mawa Muhindo the incumbent and NRM flag bearer.

Previously the FDC had only seven members in the district council.

The Former Bukonzo East Member of parliament Yokasi Bihande who is heading the FDC mobilization team in Kasese municipality said that they have now focused their minds to the mayoral seat for Kasese municipality.

"We have now changed our strategy of campaigning now we want to push the NRM out of Kasese Municipality after capturing the district top seat and the council," vowed Bihande.

Bihande vowed to lead the mobilization team in Kasese district and have the NRM party flag bearer for Kasese Municipality mayoral seat Godfrey Kabyanga out of the race.
