The Police have issued a press release detailing out Forum for Democratic Change President Kizza Besigye's route chart for today's campaigns, the last on the Electoral Commission's schedule, in Kampala.

The statement, which was signed by the Kampala Metropolitan East Regional Police Commander Siraje Bakileke, indicated that they had agreed on the chart after a meeting with Besigye campaign managers.

Those who attended the meeting included FDC Deputy party treasurer and aspirant for Nakawa Constituency, Michael Kabaziguruka.

In the statement, Police said that security agencies held the meeting with Besigye managers following the unfortunate incident on Monday in Kampala city center and Wandegeya which led to damage to public property, public disorder, severe disruption of the city's daily activity and the death of a civilian.

Police also noted that a policewoman attached to Makerere University was severely wounded at the Makerere Eastern gate.

In the route chart, Besigye's first stop over from his home in Kasangati will be in Kyanja where he will hold his first rally. From there, he will head to Ntinda trading center.

He will then head to Kyambogo road.

From Kyambogo Road he will head to Kisosonkole and finally to Banda taxi park for a mini rally which is expected to take place at 2 pm.

From there police expects Besigye to move to Spear Motors and then turn left to Kinawataka Road.

From Kinawataka road, he is expected to head to Kunya then to Mutungo Biina and finally to Luzira playground where he will have a mini rally.

He will then head to Kitintale, then Bugolobi. From Bugolobi, Besigye will go to Kiswa via Makerere Business School and then Nakawa traffic lights upwards to police headquarters. He will then hold his final rally at the Naguru Community center yard.

Bakileke said that the teams in the meeting agreed in principle to abide by the chart provided.

"The Police Force wishes that the rallies will be held peacefully and according to the approved plans and without any inconveniences to the citizens and supporters of other presidential candidates who are also expected to be in town winding up their campaigns," he noted.
