Sharing held the reigns over rivals in the Baseball Youth tournament, beating Luzira Prisons 8-3 in the final at Gayaza baseball field on Saturday.

Robert Okello and Ashraf Kawanguzi scored four runs a piece to help Sharing Baseball Club win the first tournament off the UBASA 2016 calender.

“It was a tight final because the Boys had taken some time off  without playing the game since last year but we somehow managed to beat Luzira who seemed to relax in the sixth inning,” said Jacobs Kirya, the sharing baseball coach.

Meanwhile it was George Mukhobe’s last tournament as Chairman of Uganda Baseball and Softball Association (UBASA) though he declines to bow out of the baseball confines for good

“Inspite of stepping down as chairman, I want to maintain that I will continue working with the baseball fraternity for the good of the game,” said George Mukhobe shortly after the tournament.
