High profile killings

There have been a number of high profile killings in the country recently and have been linked to contract killers.

In March 2015, state prosecutor Joan Kagezi was gunned down in Kiwatule while Sheikh Ibrahim Hassan Kirya became the ninth Muslim cleric to be gunned down in similar way.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura at the time cited contract killers to be the perpetrators.
