The stakeholders were asked to be mindful of people who want to disorganize the elections

Stakeholders in West Nile have being trained on the use of the Biometric Voter Verification System by the Electoral Commission for the forthcoming elections.

The stakeholders were asked to be mindful of people who want to disorganize the elections by the regional electoral officer Nancy Akello during her opening remarks at Heritage Courts Hotel in Arua.

Akello revealed that those with national IDs and voter slips will be allowed to vote and the use of the national register will also be allowed apart from biometric devices.

She said that voting will start at 7:00am and end at 4:00pm after which vote counting will commence.

"The machine helps to eliminate multiple voting amongst people and avoids impersonation as well as knowing the details of the voter, location by district so as to avoid vote rigging" Henry Makabi the officer in charge of data management in the Electoral Commission added.
