Vipers unveil George 'Best' Nsimbe as new coach

Feb 05, 2016

“I have signed a two-year contract with Vipers and I am hoping to win the title with them.”

Azam Premier League side Vipers FC have unveiled George ‘Best' Nsimbe as their new coach.

The 50-year-old has previously led KCCA FC to three league titles - in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

Vipers team director Lawrence Mulindwa said Nsimbe is the right person to steer the defending champions to more glory.

He termed as "personal reasons" what made him leave his previous club league strugglers The Saints FC.

"I had written a resignation letter to my boss when I received a call from Lawrence Mulindwa that he wants me to coach his team.

"Although my contract was left with eight months with The Saints, I could not work with them due to my personal reasons," said Nsimbe.

"I have signed a two-year contract with Vipers and I am hoping to win the title with them."

Edward Golola, who won the title with the Kitende-based club, will be Nsimbe's assistant effective from their next fixture.

Although his contract with Saints FC is still on, Vipers plan to buy out his clause or find a clause in the contract that they can base on to let him move.

"I am glad to join the club and hoping to use my experience garnered from KCCA and Azam among others to lift the club to top level. Good enough, I know almost all the players here and with co-operation and assistance from fellow coaches, I am optimistic we shall achieve the targets set," said Nsimbe as he warmed up to life at his new club.

It's the fifth club he is coaching after KCCA, Fire Masters, The Saints, and Victors FC and Tanzania giants Azam FC.

Although Nsimbe was officially unveiled on Thursday, he began his work a day earlier where he conducted his first training session with the team.
