EC chief Dr. Badru Kiggundu said the introduction of biometric voter verification system is one of the many steps the election body has taken to improve integrity of electoral process.

Parliament Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, who presided over the launch in Kampala on Tuesday, said the biometric voter verification system will improve integrity of electoral process through authenticity of voter identity.

She hailed the EC for the timely intervention that will ensure transparency in the 2016 elections calling for security to avoid theft of the portable equipment.
