In the past, election petitions have taken long periods for final verdicts to be made.
All elections petitions will be completed by the judiciary within the first six months after the forthcoming general elections.
This was revealed Friday by the Principal Judge Yorokam Bamwine during a conference for judges at Kabira Country Club.
As part of this intervention aimed at ensuring that justice is not delayed, Bamwine said the judges have planned to have a discourse on the February 10 and 11 to generate ideas on how best the objective will be achieved.
In the past, election petitions have taken long periods – like four years – for final verdicts to be made, which made many victims to lose confidence in the country’s judicial system.
