In France Rachid Ghezzal of Algeria nabbed an outstanding goal for Lyon

Kelechi Icheanacho and Arouna Kone were both on the mark in FA Cup action in England helping their clubs, Manchester City and Everton, into the fourth round.

In France Rachid Ghezzal of Algeria nabbed an outstanding goal for Lyon and there was a brace for Congolese international Cedric Bakambu for Sporting Lisbon.

ENGLAND

KELECHI IHEANACHO (Manchester City)

Teenage Nigerian striker Iheanacho scored his fifth goal of the season as City cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win away to Premier League rivals Norwich City. The 19-year-old scored his side's second goal in the 31st minute, steering a shot into the bottom-right corner from strike partner Sergio Aguero's pass.

AROUNA KONE (Everton)

Kone set Everton on their way to a routine 2-0 home victory over fourth-tier Dagenham and Redbridge at Goodison Park. The 32-year-old Ivorian striker broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a close-range header from Bryan Ovideo's right-wing free-kick.

MUSTAPHA CARAYOL (Leeds United)

Gambian debutant Carayol opened the scoring with a blistering strike as Leeds booked their place in round four with a 2-0 victory over fellow Championship side Rotherham United. The winger, who recently arrived at Elland Road on loan from Middlesbrough, sent a vicious shot crashing into the top-right corner from the left-hand apex of the penalty area.

SOULEYMANE DOUKARA (Leeds United)

Carayol's Senegalese team-mate Doukara put the seal on Leeds's win in the 90th minute following a defensive mix-up. As a Rotherham defender attempted to shepherd the ball back to goalkeeper Lee Camp, Doukara stole in to nick the ball before rolling it into an empty net.

FRANCE

RACHID GHEZZAL (Lyon)

The Algerian winger scored the second goal in Lyon's 4-1 thumping of Troyes which opened the club's new 59,000-seater stadium. The 23-year-old Ghezzal swivelled inside the area and struck a sweet left-footed effort beyond goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni.

JOHN TSHIBUMBU (Gazelec Ajaccio)

Congo striker Tshibumbu hit Gazelec's second goal for a 2-0 lead at Monaco before being pegged back for 2-2. The point was enough to take the promoted team five points clear of the drop zone. Tshibumbo, 27, starred in the Corsicans' 2014-2015 campaign, scoring twice in the 3-2 win over over Niort which secured promotion last May.

SPAIN

CEDRIC BAKAMBU (Villarreal)

Congolese international striker Cedric Bakambu struck twice to take his tally in his debut season in Spain to 12 as Villarreal beat Sporting Gijon 2-0 on Sunday to register their sixth consecutive La Liga win.

LASS BANGOURA (Rayo Vallecano)

Guinean winger Lass Bangoura came off the bench to set up Pablo Hernandez's consolation goal as Rayo slipped deeper into relegation trouble with a 2-1 defeat at Levante.

ITALY

KEITA BALDE (Lazio)

Keita Balde was given a rare start for Lazio and repaid coach Stefano Pioli's faith by breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half-time away to title challengers Fiorentina. Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa admitted the goal "weighed heavily" on the hosts and Spanish-born Senegalese striker was only replaced in the final few minutes when Anderson came off the bench to hit Lazio's third to secure a shock 3-1 win.

UMAR SADIQ (Roma)

Roma starlet Umar Sadiq was given his second successive start by Roma coach Rudi Garcia and forced AC Milan 'keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma into a spectacular parry after a matter of seconds at a sparsely-attended Stadio Olimpico on Saturday. The 18-year-old Nigerian remained a threat in a tense encounter but failed to find the net for a third successive game as it ended 1-1.
