Deo Akope fired up for 3e Actuaries Golf Open

Akope finished in 17th position to partake on the $70000 (sh220m) prize money shared out among the top 30 golfers who made the cut in the 54-hole competition at the Presidential Golf Course in Mongomo



After making the cut at the third edition of the 3e Actuaries Golf Open in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda professional golfer Deo Akope is fired up to compete even in more African competitions.


Akope finished in 17th position to partake on the $70000 (sh220m) prize money shared out among the top 30 golfers who made the cut in the 54-hole competition at the Presidential Golf Course in Mongomo.

Denis Anguyo who travelled with Akope was not that lucky missing the cut and finishing 36th out of a field of 60 professionals who competed from across the world.

The top 30 golfers who made the cut at this year's competition did not only walk away with the cash but also gained an automatic qualification to next year's event which is going to have $150,000 (sh500m) in prize money.

The top 30 will also enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to the event, in the golf tourism driven tournament supported by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema.
