The former Prime Minister and secretary general of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) now contesting as an independent candidate lunched his manifesto at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

In his forward message to the manifesto, Amama says that, "Building trust is no easy task. It will take time and will be a result of accomplishments made, goals achieved and promises kept. The best way for us to start this process is to understand what is expected of each other. The citizens must know what the government can and cannot do for them. The government, in turn, must understand what its role is in the life of every Ugandan and then endeavor, to the best of its ability."

He says that to fulfill that role, Communication is key as it is in any relationship and as such, before presenting the manifesto, we will present to you our pledges.

The manifesto highlights radical changes in the system of governance, fighting corruption, health, education, human rights, and rule of law and resolving the issue of land ownership that has been contentious in many areas.

Amama also promised that The Question of Federal, Federo or Regional Tier will be answered by respecting the desires of communities when it comes to their choice of governance and help them realize those dreams.

Democratic Party's Norbert Mao in the opening remarks on behalf of The Democratic Alliance (TDA) summit members that supported Go-Forward explained reasons why Ugandans should vote for Amama.

He said, "Amama is the most suitable candidate to defeat the regime because there is no person who understands Museveni like him."

Former Katikkiro Joseph Mulwanyamuli Ssemogerere before inviting Amama to the podium to launch  his manifesto, he, in what the Master of Ceremony Solome Nakawesa dubbed unveiling the candidate, gave details of Amama's background.
