URA has sacked head coach Moses Basena. Club CEO Edward Kulubya confirmed the development.

“He has been sacked due to the club’s poor performance. The club board has now selected Kefa Kisaala who was Basena’s assistant to take over and we are confident he will deliver,” Kulubya stated.

He added that the board will sit to decide on Kisala’s backroom staff.

Basena’s exit comes shortly after URA lost to the league's new entrants Saints 1-0 on Saturday. This was URA’s third consecutive defeat and Saints' first win of the season. URA lost previous matches 4-1 and 2-1 to Sadolin Paints and Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU).

The tax collectors find themselves lying tenth on the table having won only two games, drawn  three and lost three.

Basena who joined URA at the start of thes season becomes third coach to be relieved of his duties following Harunah Kebba's and Antonio Flores's departures from Saints and SC Villa respectively.
