FDC strongman and former Busongora South MP Christopher Kibanzanga has crossed to NRM, leaving a party that is set to hold a delegates conference on Wednesday to select a possible flag-bearer for the 2016 general elections.

Kibanzanga, who represented Busongora South in Parliament for 10 years, on Tuesday took an oath of allegiance during an NRM function held at State House, Entebbe.

The oath is taken by opposition members crossing from another party to NRM.

President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM party chairman received Kibanzanga at State House during a function that was also attended by Justine Kasule Lumumba, the NRM secretary general and several other party supporters.

Kibanzanga’s crossing comes shortly after another FDC member the former Kilak MP Michael Ocula Nyeko crossed to NRM.
