Uganda Cup Final

KCCA v URA (Mbale Municipal stadium)

Semi-final, second leg

Jinja Municipal 1 URA 0 (URA qualify 4-1 on aggregate)

JINJA Municipal Council beat URA but the win was not enough to stop the tax collectors’ march to the final.

URA, who won the first leg 4-0, will face KCCA in the final on June 7 at Mbale Municipal stadium.

Richard Wandyaka scored the Jinja side’s lone goal with four minutes left after a build-up with Ambrose Kirya.

The hosts were a much better side on Tuesday afternoon, missing several chances. Kirya and Milton Kalisa thrice wasted clear chances in the Kakindu encounter.

Robert Ssentongo should have equalized for the visitors. He was twice in scoring range but couldn’t find the mark.  URA are seeking their third Uganda Cup trophy in five finals.

Eight time winners KCCA on the other hand are chasing their first league and cup double.

The final was initially supposed to be this weekend but was extended to next month due to the big number of players that the two finalists have in the national side-the Cranes.
