KCCA draw to set up dramatic season ender

THERE are all signs of a photo finish in the FUFA Super League. KCCA could have eased the tension by winning a record tenth title if they had beaten Kira Young on Sunday.

But the Lugogo side played to a goalless draw and will now have to contend with a final day race to the coveted trophy with second placed Victoria University on Tuesday.

KCCA will be facing arch-rivals SC Villa at Lugogo as Victoria University host Bright Stars at Kavumba.

KCCA go into the final battle with a one point lead but are well aware that any slip will have them beaten to the title by Morley Byekwaso’s side.

KCCA coach George Nsimbe might not have pulled off that badly needed win but he was still a contented man. “It is not easy getting an away point from a team like Kira Young,” he observed.

He however promised to strengthen his weak spots ahead of tomorrow’s clash. His attack of Tony Odur, Brian Majwega and Herman Wasswa always got into scoring positions but looked clueless.

But he was also quick to note that his troops were tense. That lately seems to be a big problem whenever the Lugogo side gets into decisive matches.

The CAF Champions League is a classic example. KCCA twice played to great away results only to lose before the home crowd. How fast Nsimbe puts KCCA’s nerves together will definitely determine they yellows can shine to the title.

Elsewhere Proline joined CRO as the second side to be relegated to the FUFA Big League after they lost to Jinja side Bul Bidco.

At Kavumba recreation stadium Joseph Mpande hit a brace as Vipers beat Soana 3-0.
