UGANDA Martyrs and Makerere University will play their next Nile Special University Football League matches at the same time.
The decision was arrived at because the matches will determine the last team that will advance to the quarter-finals from group A.
MUBS, Uganda Christian University and the defending champions Kampala University have already qualified from the group.
University Football League manager Anthony Tumwesigye said that the decision to have Uganda Martyrs and Makerere University play at the same time is good for sporting reasons.
He said a meeting will be held tomorrow to finalise plans for the matches.
Dates for the matches will soon be fixed.
“There is a struggle for the last slot (quarter-final) in group A. We don’t want to leave anything to chance,” Tumwesigye explained.
In group B, Kampala International University and leaders Nkumba have qualified for the quarter-finals.
Busitema, Ndejje and Gulu Universities are in line to join them as the title race intensifies.
