SC Villa coach Stephen Bogere has dismissed talk linking him to a backroom job at Kira Young.

While responding to a curious group of Villa fans at Lugogo on Tuesday, Bogere, who has since last week been expected to join Kira as Haruna Kebba assistant, said he was going nowhere.

The visibly excited Bogere after Karim Ndugwa’s last minute goal gave his side a 1-0 win over Proline told New Vision Sport in an interview that he had no reason to quit Villa Park.

“The team (Villa) is winning and I’m not going anywhere. No club official has told me to go so why would someone expect me to leave at this time?” Bogere asked at Lugogo.

However, Kira Young owner Jimmy Lukwago revealed that they were set to unveil Bogere as an assistant to Kebba at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m aware Bogere has denied that we are negotiating with him to come and assist Kebba but I understand him because he was among rowdy Villa fans at Lugogo. You wanted him to confirm (departure) and get beaten?” a bemused Lukwago stated.

Bogere, who joined Villa amidst confusion at Villa Park following its split between the two rival leagues last season, has managed eight wins, four draws and five losses and so far and club loyalists have attributed the performance to his tactics.
