Nkana Red Devils v KCCA

WELL aware of the huge pressure that will come with a defensive game, coach George Nsimbe has again opted to attack in his away CAF Champions League encounter against Nkana Red Devils.

As KCCA left this morning, Nsimbe was again optimistic that this approach would just like in the previous round when KCCA triumphed in Khartoum, also yield fruits against the Zambians.

“I will be attack-minded. The best way of defense is attack,” said Nsimbe.

Nsimbe also has his lessons from the El Merreikh return leg. KCCA almost paid dearly for easing the pressure on the visitors’ defense at Namboole.

After taking an early Tony Odur lead, KCCA relaxed, a mistake that had El Merreikh clawing its way from behind to win 2-1 though ultimately losing 3-2 on aggregate.

“Our strategy is an attacking game throughout both legs. We simply can’t afford to fall back and defend,” explained Nsimbe.

The Kampala side travelled via the Zambian capital Lusaka from where they will connect to the copper belt city of Kitwe.

On whether he had any idea of what lies in stock for him in Kitwe, Nsimbe expressed ignorance.

“I have no idea of the kind of football Nkana plays. All I know, is that they will be all out for an attacking game.”

But even in his lack of information about his opponents, Nsimbe strongly believes that it won’t take him long to study the opponents.

“All I need is ten minutes of the match to have come up with a fitting strategy,” said Nsimbe as he made final touches with his assistant Abdallah Mubiru.
