FUFA president Moses Magogo has revealed that internal differences in football have continued to hurt the game financially.

Magogo, who met FUFA Super League club officials, revealed on Monday that bickering among football administrators has affected the federation’s prospects to secure another sponsor for the competition.

“The calmer the football environment becomes, the nearer we can get to the potential sponsors,” Magogo told the club officials, who all looked eager to hear the federation announce a sponsor for the league.

A source, who also attended the meeting, later intimated to New Vision Sport that FUFA has had numerous fruitless attempts to secure a league sponsor because of internal disagreements.

“You cannot imagine one of the deals that aborted was due to be signed in two days. The then prospective sponsor called to say that they cannot continue the negotiations until when we resolve our disagreements,” the source said.

At Monday's meeting Magogo also told the Super League clubs to adopt the clubs Pro-Agenda to run them profitably.

The eleven players of the pro-agenda include clubs clearly identifying their own source of income, medical insurance for players, facilities (e.g training grounds), managing the senior and youth sides as brands , marketing, fans identity, communication and events management for their own stability.

Magogo noted that the clubs required clear ownership and administrative structures among others ease their own management.

KCCA, Masaka LC, Entebbe Young and army side Simba FC did not attend the meeting for various reasons.

FUFA also used the meeting to appeal to the Super League clubs to work together with it to harmonise football and spearhead its development.
