King Oyo's grandmother passes on.

Tooro is mourning the passing of Princess Agnes Bagaya Nkwenge Kakoko Abwooli the youngest sister of Sir George David Matthew Kamurasi Rukidi III, the 11th Omukama of Tooro.
 

Rukidi III, grandfather of King Oyo Nyimba Iguru was father of  the late  Patrick Olimi Kaboyo.
 

Ssemwezi Ssebagereka finds it painful to recall the last moments of his close friend and grandmother, Princess Agnes Bagaya Nkwenge Kakoko Abwooli. Who passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday at her home in Buheesi, Kabarole district.

“My grandmother was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, she was loving, caring and a disciplinarian. She always wanted us to have character and always be humble,” Ssemwezi said.
 

Ssemwezi recalls when he was still in high school; he escaped from home and went dancing. On his way back, he found out that his escape route had been blocked. He knocked on Princess Bagaya’s window and she opened for him and made sure that his mother does not find out that he had gone out. 
 

The following day, she called him and warned him in good faith not to do it again. But she never told his mother that his son was always in clubs at night.
 

According to Ssemwezi, the deceased is survived by seven children both from his first and second marriage. She has been battling Diabetes and hypertension.

Bagaya was born in 1923 to the late King of Tooro, David Kasagama Kyebambe III and Omuggo Byanjelu.She went to a catholic mission school and stopped in primary five. She got married to the late Bernard Kakoko.She was in charge of events in the palace.

There will be a funeral service at All saints church tomorrow(Wednesday 19 2014) at 10:00am.
