EXPRESS FC has not lost all hope of reclaiming the services of former Vipers SC striker Edgar Luzige who is now with Jinja-based BIDCO Football Club in the FUFA Super League.

Express lodged a petition with FUFA competitions committee claiming ownership of the player who signed a contract with BIDCO.

“Yes, we have complained to FUFA because he signed a sh2m contract with us in January. We gave him money and he then went on to sign another two year contract with BIDCO,” Express PRO Peter Nkugwa confirmed the development.

Nkugwa further explained that Luzige received the club’s money but later told them that he had been called for trials in Kenya and would not be around two weeks which the club agreed but were shocked when he returned and asked for another two weeks yet the transfer window in Kenya had closed.

“We even paid for his rent despite him asking for more time to go to Ethiopia and Zimbabwe, but when I was at FUFA I saw his license so we had to petition,” Nkugwa explained.

When contacted, FUFA competitions committee secretary Decolas Kiiza confirmed the development but added that the matter was referred to the Players Status Committee.

“We referred the matter to the Player Status Committee but unfortunately the chairman has been away with KCC FC but hopefully we shall have the committee decision before the end of this week,” Kiiza stated.
