Police in Tororo are investigating a one Angella Tonny, a resident of Water Village in Tororo for molesting teenagers.

Tonny, who is currently on the run, is accused of sexual abuse in the village.

According to the police, Moses Okiru who resides in the area registered a case of reference number SD 08/14/11/2013 at Tororo police station after his son complained of molestation by Tonny.

“Okiru noticed that his son [names withheld] was having problems with sitting down, prompting him to seek medical advice.  When the results returned, he discovered that his son had been molested, prompting him to report to police,” said the CID officer.

He said the boy was allegedly molested five times. The report angered the locals, who mounted a hunt for Tonny.

According to investigations, the accused fled in June last year and went into hiding in Malaba before he sneaked into neighboring Kenya.

The Water Village Local Council I chairman said three village boys had reported a case of molestation to his office regarding Tonny’s conduct.

“We have also received reports that he [suspect] was luring young boys into the act. We are hunting for him and shall apply the long arm of the law once arrested,” said the CID officer Tororo.

The officer said the fugitive who was sent away by his landlord used his hideout in Malaba to abuse innocent boys.

He noted that so far four other people had reported similar cases of molestation against them.

The police identified the recruits as John, Michael, Peter, and Tom Robert.
