KCCA FC has set a favourable stage for their return leg of their 2014 CAF Champions League preliminary round match with a 2-0 win against Al-Merreikh in Sudan.

But Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) will have an uphill task against Don Bosco in the return leg of their CAF Confederations Cup at the same stage in Kampala after they went down 3-0 in Lubumbashi, DR Congo.

Herman Wasswa and Tony Odur netted in the 22nd and 24th minutes respectively as KCCA FC stunned Al-Merreikh the Al-Merreikh Stadium in Sudan on Saturday night.

But in Lubumbashi, SCVU failed to match their hosts Don Bosco as they suffered a humbling 3-0 defeat with Zambian Luka Lunga’s header on 65 minutes setting the hosts on their way.

Reagan Pemble doubled the lead soon before the break while Joseph Sitali curling in a free kick from 18 yards to end SCVU’s hopes at the Stade TP Mazembe on Saturday.

Both KCCA and SCVU will play the return legs this weekend.
