Intercontinental low kick title fight

Moses Golola (Uganda) v Poczo Zoltan (Romania)

OVER 200 fans packed the Natete shopping mall parking lot on Saturday during the official weigh-in of Ugandan Kick boxer Moses Golola and Romanian Poczo Zoltan ahead of their title fight on Sunday.

Golola who weighed in at 75kg, raised his fist and tried to intimidate his opponent but Zoltan, who weighed 73kg and on his first visit in Uganda, simply wore a deathly stare.

Sunday night’s fight will shed light on whether the 2kg difference will play in any of the two fighter’s hands.

“I am very happy to be here (Uganda) for the first time and seeing him (Golola) with my eyes. I promise a good fight and a win as well.” Zoltan said after the weigh in.

Seconds after his speech, fans stated chanting Golola’s name incessantly and when he was given the microphone, the motor mouthed fighter did not disappoint them at all.

“First I want to thank God who prepares my hands for fights like this possible win. As the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi advised us not give-up no matter what, I am also set to fight and not to go back to the village without meat,” Golola said.

“As you see he has a long jaw, am going to shorten it with raining punches in tomorrow and its possible because am the only man who can climb Mountain Dew soda in the world.”

The fight will be for the vacant Intercontinental low kick title in the 75kg category. This will be the third time that Golola is challenging experienced Romanians.

He has previously faced Andras Nagy, who is reported to have passed away, and Mate Zsamboki.
