Police recover body of drowned teacher

POLICE on Friday recovered the body of a secondary teacher who drowned on Thursday in Lake Victoria.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that they had recovered the body of Faustine Bukenya who was a teacher at Kingstone High School Kawempe Kampala

“We recovered the body of the teacher, Faustine Bukenya who drowned on Thursday while on a holiday picnic with other teachers and students from Kingstone High School Kawempe Kampala.” Onyango said.

His colleagues told the school that Bukenya, who did not know how to swim, dived into the deepest part of the lake and he failed to swim back to the shores. 

He was last seen playing with ball in the waters.
