THAT Ronald Musagala is attracting so much attention from leading promoters in the athletics world even after he failed to make it to the 800m final in Moscow hasn’t come as a surprise to one person in particular.

Raphael Kasaja who has coached the 21yr old for the best part of his budding career rates Musagala very highly and expects him to be among the best in the world soon.

“It was his first ever international meet and it was down to inexperience that he failed to make the final. The push he got in the back from the Kenyan didn’t help matters either.” Kasaja stated.

“An experienced athlete would have been patient but he panicked a bit and tried to overtake in the curve rather than wait for the stretch and that drains you a lot. The rest of the 800m world will take him seriously from now on because he had the guts to take the lead on his debut.”

Kasaja though sees Musagala’s maiden trip as a very successful one despite his failure to improve his times in the Russian capital.

“The number of phone calls I have received from Europe inquiring about him have been overwhelming so his talent was noticed by many,” Kasaja said.

“He got a taste of the big stage and it will help him develop. The interest from managers oversees will also help him take part in more international meets to build experience but as far as I am concerned, his technique is perfect so there is not a lot of work to do and he will soon conquer the track” a confident Kasaja stated.
