Nwoya woman member of parliament Lilly Adong has urged local communities in her constituency to start fruit farming to fight poverty.

Nwoya woman member of parliament Lilly Adong has urged local communities in her constituency to start fruit farming to fight poverty.


Adong was Sunday attending a seedling training on how to plant grafted oranges and mangoes and participated in the distribution of seedlings to the local community at Koch Goma sub County headquarters.

She commended government for delivering the seedlings in time during the first rainy session.

She also advised the community to engage in commercial farming to reap big rather than wasting time small scale growing of millet, sorghum and other crops which for home consumption.


A juice factory is in the offing in Nwoya district by Delight Nwoya Fruits Outgrowers Scheme.
