The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje is now in Beirut – Lebanon to attend an International Conference on Palestine

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje is now in Beirut – Lebanon to attend an International Conference on Palestine. 
 
The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council spokesperson, Haji Nsereko Mutumba said in a statement today that Mubaje left for the conference on May 14th to join other senior religious and government leaders who are taking part in the three day conference organised by Human Rights organisations advocating for the rights of the people of Palestine.
The Mufti’s delegation includes Dr. Hussein Muhammad Bowa, the UMSC Secretary for Awqaf among others.
  
The statement said the conference which officially starts on May 16th and ends on May 18th 2015 is one of the many international efforts being used; to advocate for an Independent state of Palestine.
Mubaje, speaking shortly before departure, said top on the conference agenda will be the issue of realizing an independent State of Palestine.
 
“Religious, political and civil society leaders will deliberate and come up with resolutions that support the recognition of an Independent State of Palestine free from Israeli occupation and siege” the Mufti said.
