Two senior army officers who were recently promoted from the rank of brigadier to Major General have been officially decorated and handed two stars for their new ranks.

Two senior army officers who were recently promoted from the rank of brigadier to Major General have been officially decorated and handed two stars for their new ranks.

Major General James Mugira (51) the current managing director of Luweero Defence Industries and Major General James Nakibus Lakara (55) were promoted on April 11 by the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, General Yoweri Museveni.

The decoration ceremony was held at Mbuya Military Army headquarters.



Nakibus who has been serving as division commander 3rd Infantry Division from July 2013 to April 2015 has been given a new deputy force commander support for AMISOM in Somalia.

Lt. General Ivan Koreta congratulated the officers. He said the new stars meant added responsibility and more weight on their shoulders.  

The two generals were accompanied by their wives.
