Kampala–Nsambya Rotary Club has been commissioned with a call to all rotarians to transform communities.
Geeta Manek, district governor Rotary international from Kenya, said there is a need to inculcate the objectives of rotary in respective communities through physical demonstrations like setting up communal projects such as health clinics.
Manek, who officiated at the commissioning of the Rotary club at a charter night held at Moonlight Park in Nsambya on Friday, said there is a need educate the masses on procedure of the rotary and this can only be achieved through holding regular meetings and seminars.
Manek, who also inducted new members in the rotary and officially installed Francis Lubowa as the president Kampala –Nsambya Rotary Club, said rotary is about good governance and accountability to communities.
The function preceded a medical camp in Nsambya where 350 people were attended to by the club members and paining of Zebra crossings at different road sections as part of the fulfillment of rotary objectives.
Lubowa said although they are still at infantry level, they are focused on the objectives of rotary and are meeting regularly. The function was attended by rotarians from across the country.
