It was a glamorous affair at the Grip and Sparks warehouse in Bugolobi Industrial Area on Friday evening when the BOLD store owners Janet Mugume, Nunu Mugyenyi and Angel Kalisa, got 11 designers together to showcase their best.

By 8:30 it was full house and XP Clothing Africa were the first to show off their clothing line, a beautiful mix of African attire and modern designs.

Next was Biika with African inspired accessories, from purses fitted with Kitenge interiors, to bow ties, suspenders, and kerchiefs made with East African fabrics and prints.

Definition Africa then gave their casual wear a twist by letting musician Lilian Mbabazi, socialite Sue Ochola do the catwalk. Their lineup was also supposed to include Siima Sabbiti, Navio and Mun G but they were a no show.

Kiroto Africa was next, using recycled Ugandan material to make what I would call impressive accessories and African print clothes. Kunda Fashion house gave its all with Karitas Karisimbi as the lead model.

The collection by Lillian Agasha was nicely put together using rich African fabrics.

Then Kwesh went all the way with coats and tops plunging necklines and button less coats and body hugging dresses with geometrical shapes and a few men’s suits.

Other fashion houses included Namia Couture, Clare Tendo, and Qulture with T-shirts.

Umuringa Jewelry wowed the audience by using plus size models dressed in black wearing jewelry from springy to beads and metal plate like jewelry.

Gloria Wavamunno crowned off the evening with her collections of serious designs for the older woman to tomboyish clothes all accentuated with an African touch.

The show was punctuated with lots of performances from Lillian Mbabazi, Ekky, Pinky and other performances.
