WITH riders set to take on the redesigned Garuga track on Sunday during the third round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross championship, fans are eagerly waiting for the thrilling showdown in the 50cc, 65cc and 85cc categories respectively.

While Asaf Natan has got a tough battle on his hands if he is to beat young star Maxime van Pee in the MX1 open category, Ben Nsumba is out to upset Wazir Omar in the 65cc category.

Last week Wazir emerged victor after a highly contested battle but Nsumba is out to give Omar a run for his money on. Both will be riding 65cc 2013 KTM bikes.

“We have gone through the track and if the bike doesn’t let us down, we shall have a podium finish,” Nsumba’s father and manager Steven Nsumba.

The most anticipated contest of the day will be between Alistair Blick and Ali Omar in 85cc category.

Meanwhile, Maxime van Pee has cautioned his competitors not to write off his chances of winning the national championship despite his lowly position in the standings.

“I have been missing Uganda and my fans, but am back and this Saturday I start my campaign for the national championship. I know Asaf is a good rider and is working on the track but my KTM 350cc bike is now ok and I will give my fans the best,” Maxime stated.

Maxime is placed 10th in the standings having missed the second round and suffering a chain problem in the first round.
