Inner Circle arrives, promises mega show

Jamaican reggae group Inner Circle arrived in the country last night at 11.00pm ahead of their concert tomorrow Saturday at Jinja Nile Resort.

Jamaican reggae group Inner Circle arrived in the country last night at 11.00pm ahead of their concert tomorrow Saturday at Jinja Nile Resort.
The band which boasts of a Grammy Award for best reggae album came with all its members and spent the night at Sheraton Hotel and will travel to Jinja today.
Lead vocalist Roger Lewis promised a good show. The band had a meet and greet party at Club Silk Thursday night
The concert is organised by Jinja Municipal Council in a move to promote Jinja as a tourism center and increase awareness among dwellers about the importance of keeping their city clean.
Formed in 1968 by two brothers (Ian and Roger Lewis), the band consists of 10 members and over the years has traversed several countries but has never performed on African soil.

“Uganda has lively music and we are here to contribute to music in general. We respect this country a lot musically and we want promote it further; the show is gonna be fantastic,” said 61-old Roger Lewis.
The group is known for such songs like Bad Boys (1987), Sweat (1992), Rock With You (1992), Games People Play (1994), Sweat a La la la la long (2004) among others.
A number of local artistes led by Mega D will curtain raise for the band.
