Student torches self after losing tuition fees

A student of Nsambya vocational school torched himself after losing tuition fees is father had given him.

Emmanuel Ogabe, a son to Moses Ogabe is now nursing severe burns at Mulago hospital where he was rushed after attempting to take his own life on Tuesday evening. His father said his son has severally attempted to take his own life.

Moses said he attempted to kill himself because he has always annoyed his parents yet they were struggling to make ends meet so he could not bear the thought of facing them after losing sh100,000 his father had given him.

He said when he realised he had lost the money, he returned home and doused himself in paraffin before torching himself with a match. He was saved by his father who chased after him and put out the fire with water.
