ENTEBBE - When the mayor of Entebbe Vincent De Paul Kayanja finally tied the knot with his beloved Regina Nabakooza, the newly-wedded couple received a few tips for their life ahead from His Eminence Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala.

The 87-year-old former archbishop of Kampala told the couple not to invite ‘malnutrition’ into their marriage in order to have a lasting marriage.

If it intrudes their relationship, then the mayor and his wife should give it the suitable divine treatment, advised Wamala.

“Feed it with the right ingredients of love and trust in the Lord, plus a cup of romance added with respect and trust,” he told the pair who wedded recently at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Bugonga Catholic Church in Entebbe.

Wamala, who presided over the marriage ceremony, explained that love needs nurturing with continuous prayers to God for guidance.

Meanwhile, President Museveni hailed the Entebbe leader for being committed to national issues.

In his message to the couple, read on his behalf by tourism minister Maria Mutagamba who represented him at the wedding, Museveni called on youths to emulate Kayanja to help push the country forward.

While congratulating the newly-weds, the President advised the youth to opt for marriage, saying doing so will guard them against HIV/AIDS – if they remain faithful.

Kayanja, a Democratic Party (DP) die-hard, wedded Nabakooza who works with the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) at a colorful ceremony.

Their party attracted friends, family, prominent DP members – including former party president Dr Paul Kawanga Semwogerere  who was the groom’s witness during the exchange of their marriage vows – and scores other guests.

Nabakooza is daughter to Prof. John Musazi Senyondo of Namasuba- Kyaddondo while Kayanja is son to late Benedicto and Tereza Kayanja Gonza of Katabi – Busambaga in Entebbe Municipality.
