The medical bill for abandoned Sharif Mukisa has finally been cleared, thanks to Saturday Vision readers. Among the recent contributors this week was Atwine Agaba, a P.3 pupil of Agakhan Primary School.

He contributed sh50,000. Another wellwisher, Kakuru, sent sh240,000.

The two-year-old’s mother, Yozefina Kirabira, was grateful for the support offered towards the treatment of her son.
“I thank Saturday Vision for publishing my story. It was through the story that I managed to get assistance,” she said.

Mukisa, who has been suffering from a brain condition known as hydrocephalus, was operated on at CURE Hospital in Mbale. Kirabira says the head of the family, Saidi Musolo, a fisherman, abandoned her and their children, allegedly because he feared that his wife would give birth to another baby with a condition like Mukisa’s.
