Drama ensued at Atirir Health Centre IV in Soroti as NRM leaders drenched in sweat, took a shot at the hoe.

SOROTI - There was drama at Atirir Health Centre IV in Soroti district as NRM leaders, led by Charles Elasu, the chairperson, drenched in sweat, weeded the compound.

But before that, Elasu, after being handed a hoe, complained that it was an inadequate tool for the job. “I am a farmer, but this hoe is not fit for digging, please get me another hoe so that I can show you that I can dig,” Elasu said, as people burst into laughter.

NRM mobiliser Soroti, Teddy Acham, argued with the district chairperson George Michael, over the size of the area which he was to weed.

The former NRM flag bearer for Soroti County, Vincent Enomu, did not last even five minutes digging.

“These people go on radio accusing us of not cultivating enough crops, but today they are disagreeing over a small piece,” a patient at the health centre commented.

The duo drank almost 10 litres of bottled water in a very short time from the start of the work.
