Help, my man has refused to test for HIV

It’s about one-and-a-half years since I met my boyfriend, who is three years older than me. He is the first man I fell in love with and we are planning to become parents.
It’s about one-and-a-half years since I met my boyfriend, who is three years older than me. He is the first man I fell in love with and we are planning to become parents.
We have never tested for HIV, but we always have protected sex.
At times he is reluctant to use condoms, but I insist he does so. We have had many misunderstandings over this issue and at one point we broke up. Because I love him deeply, I always take him back.
Since he has refused to take an HIV test, I want to let the man of my dreams go. Does it take that long for someone to get ready to take an HIV test? Does he already know his HIV-status?
